The Glen of Imaal Terrier -
Showing Glens - the solution :-
The only way to success is through showing or 'exhibiting' dogs to give it its correct term. Showing dogs is a labour of love, but more of a love for dogs in general than dogs of a specific breed, the breed we show is just a personal preference.
Showing dogs is about the dog, but a lot is required from us humans to make it work. There is a lot to be considered if you are thinking of showing a dog, not only the acquisition of a dog of sufficient quality to show and win shows, but the management of the behind the scenes goings on such as the expense and time involved.

But it is a great pastime to have that all the family can get involved with and enjoy, not only together as a family but with the dogs taking full part too, making it the WHOLE family. Entry fees for dog shows can range from £3 - £20 depending on the type of show, but now the higher fee for entry to champ shows with the possibilities of winning CC's makes the charge seem better value. Either way, champ shows or open, showing dogs is an affordable way to spend your free time in an involving hobby that brings the family together and promotes dogs in general. You should seek expert advice before purchasing a dog of any breed you are not familiar with, but you need specialist expert advice if you are thinking of buying a dog to show.
