Christopher & Vivien Wakefield

Our first show was at Bury and our first championship show came at Windsor in 1974. It was at this show that I saw a Sussex Spaniel for the first time and by the end of 1977 I finally managed to get two after three years on the waiting list and at the same time we acquired a Clumber Spaniel.

Our first major prize came once again at Windsor when we won our first Res CC under Michael Boothroyd with our first Sussex dog. He later went on to win our first CC and then become our first champion.
Sussex Sps. became our great love and to date the Norris Kennel has eight U.K champion titles, six Dutch, three Luxemburg and two Irish.
Our Sussex Sps.have also won top awards in Belgium, France, Austria, Germany and Denmark including Best in Show at the European Spaniel Show in July 2007 in Austria

In 2000 we had the Bitch CC at Crufts and in 2005/6 the Dog CC and Best of Breed. In 2007 our 2005 Best of Breed once again won the Dog CC.

A few years ago our friends acquired a Glen of Imaal Terrier that we thought was good enough to show, Vivien handled him to a first at Honleyshow and he qualified for Crufts in his first year and collected a second at Crufts the following March. We then found ourselves with our own Glen, whose greatest achievement is a CAC and CACIB at Luxemburg in March 2007. It seems we have a second breed again!

We have also shown Fields, Springers, Clumbers and Cavaliers.
I give CC's in Sussex and Fields and I am on the Clumber A3 list and give Green Stars in Ireland in Sussex, English Setters, Labradors and Cockers.
